Spring Break=Productivity

Today is my official first day Spring Break, and so far, I have gotten much accomplished. Molly and I Skyped this morning, and realized airfare seemed at an all-time low (in Europe at least). So we did some booking.

Let me break it down.

Thursday June 9- Fly from Santiago to Sevilla
Molly has filled me in that Sevilla is typical Spain. Bull fighting. Flamenco Dancing.

Sunday June 12- Fly from Sevilla to Roma
We'll use this night as a buffer before we travel to Amalfi

Monday June 13-Travel from Roma to Amalfi
I think I blogged enough about Amalfi last time, but let's just look at another pic :-)
                                                             breathtaking......

Wednesday June 15- with tears in our eyes we leave Amalfi for Roma
Some exciting news to share about our stay in Rome. Molly found this AMAZING cooking class. Click here for the link. It has great reviews, and is very reasonable. We shop for the food with the chef, then come back and prepare, then eat.

Speaking of eating, Molly went to this pizza place in Rome that we plan on visiting(hopefully twice) during our stay. It was named by Fodors as one of the top 25 pizza places. Click here for the link, in Italian.

And gelato, lots of it.
                                                                  drool.......

Saturday June 18- Fly from Roma to Madrid
According to Molly(hehe), Madrid is known for the Golden Museum Triangle, Shopping, Discos and Art. Since we fly in late Saturday and I fly back to the US Tuesday morning, we were kind of crunched on time but we managed to spend about a day and a half in Madrid.

Monday June 20- We fly from Madrid back to Santiago

Unfortunately, the next day I leave for home and end the vacation. It will be bittersweet, and as soon as I can figure out a way to stay longer, I will.

Leave some comments and recommendations on places we need to visit for our travels.

Two and a half months!!!

This is my first post, so bear with me please.(Technically, it's my second, because the first one didn't work, haha)

A few months back, I booked a trip to see my good friend Molly who currently lives in Spain. She's been one of my good friends since we met my Sophomore year of college. Molly studied abroad in Santiago de Compostela and moved back there shortly after graduation. I should have visited her last year, but finally booked my trip for this summer.

This is Molly and I at the Bears game this summer when she was back for a mini-vacation. Needless to say, Bears won ;-)

Molly and I knew we wanted to do some travel during my stay, it was just a matter of where and when. We decided to make some little trips around Spain, and a week long trip to Italy.

So far, a few things are set in stone. We will be flying into Rome, going to Amalfi (transport TBD) and staying in a beautiful hotel. Insert sighs

This is the view from our hotel (or so the website says) Even if it is 1/100th of this beautiful, I'll be happy!

We plan on staying in Amalfi primarily, but traveling to the other cities by bus. Praiano is at the top of the list. I think we'll hitchhike there if we have to.

I mean seriously, look at this place.

However we figure to get down to Amalfi, we'll take that same way back to Roma. We will be staying in the heart of the city. We'll spend three days there before heading back to Spain(most likely Madrid).

There is still lots to work on, and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Especially for some budget friendly places to visit.

For now, we're dreaming of vino and antipasto, relaxing on a terrace in Amalfi.......
